Together Year 5 has
constructed the following exposition.
We strongly believe that
each child in Australia should visit a Sport and Recreation camp at least at
once. Obesity in children is rapidly increasing. These camps build
confidence and independence which are valuable life skills. Children are
exposed to new experiences where they can develop skills and conquer fears.
This great opportunity should not be missed.
We must tackle the problem
of childhood obesity before it becomes much worse. Camps involve lots of
running and exercise which encourage children to be sportier, more active
and athletic. At each activity children are given fruit to eat while at meal
times they have a wide range of vegetables and meats.
Being away from their
parents for up to a week teaches children to be more independent. At camp
you have to do the dishes, clean, serve meals, be on time, wake up on time,
pack your own bag and go to bed at the correct time. At camp you meet new
people and make new friends. Your social and relationship skills develop
along with your confidence.
New skill development is
extremely important. Sport and recreation camps help develop skills in areas
such as rock climbing, archery, kayaking and sailing. These activities help
to conquer fears of heights and promote responsible risk taking.
In conclusion we strongly
believe that all children should be given the opportunity to attend a sport
and recreation camp. They won’t regret the experience of camp. |
